Ryan McDermott is the Managing Director of the McDermott and Thomas Associates Boston office. McDermott and Thomas Associates is a company that Ryan's father founded in 1979 in New York. He has watched it grow throughout his lifetime from a virtual start up to a successful regional Employee Benefits Consulting firm with locations in New York, Princeton, NJ and Massachusetts. McDermott and Thomas employs 20 people throughout the three offices, insures approximately 25,000 people and manages several million dollars in retirement assets. McDermott and Thomas gives back to each community they do business with through volunteer work and corporate philanthropy.

Ryan's business and volunteer work have taken him to both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland as a delegate on Trade Missions with the goal of building and strengthening trade relationships and diplomacy between Massachusetts and Ireland. 

Additionally, he sits on numerous committees for several New England based organizations focused on Entrepreneurship and International Business and also participates in focus groups related to the Life Science and Technology industries.
