Here at BWP, we make a point of talking to our Connectors all the time to make sure their experience is the best it can be.
They give us the straight story whenever we ask. Sometimes we have to listen to everything we’re doing wrong, but it’s worth it because we know they really mean it when they say nice things.
As part of our recruitment of new Connectors (APPLY HERE!), we asked our Connectors to tell us about what it’s like in their own words.
Here are some responses:
“Being a Connector allows me to meet some of Boston’s greatest people in spaces where I normally wouldn’t run into them. In turn I am able to diversify my social network and create collaborations and opportunity that wouldn’t normally exist. In addition to the obvious personal benefits being a Connector has, it’s incredible to have a network of excellent people that you can provide opportunity to by introducing your own network to the BWP network of Connectors. It’s a beautiful experience.”
“BWP’s active network connects me with the best and brightest of Boston and, in turn, to their networks here and around the world. The BWP community is always very open and welcoming, everyone is willing to open their rolodex to help one another to continue to sculpt Boston’s legacy.”
“Being a BWP is “Being Boston” at a deeper level.
Through BWP, one works with fellow citizens to help Boston thrive as the connecting center for our life in New England.
Take on the BWP Connector role and be a bigger part of brawny, brainy Boston!”
“Through BWP I have met a great variety of people: lawyers, developers, bankers, artists, CEOs, CTOs, COOs, government employees, and so on. Having an expanded network helps me in ways that keeps taking me by surprise. Recently, a start-up company approached me because they needed banking contacts. Well, Lennox Chase, one of my fellow connectors is on the board of Needham Bank, and he was able to set up a meeting.”
“Being a Connector gives me an opportunity to give back to the city that has given so much to me, professionally and personally. And it’s an opportunity to meet and hear the perspectives of people working outside of my usual biotech/medical innovation/cultural circles. Those intersections are where great ideas happen!”
