Q: What is a BWP Connector?
Boston World Partnerships Connectors are active agents, a citizen sales force, for metropolitan Boston. They promote our city’s economic assets to the international business community and combine their marketing effort with their own deep enthusiasm for the region and all that it offers.
Q. What are Connectors expected to do?
INFORM
- Distribute information via your professional and social networks on Boston’s economic assets and opportunities
- Inform BWP staff about businesses, events, and opportunities that are relevant to Boston’s economic growth
CONNECT
- Generate and report leads for economic growth
- Be available as a resource to share your expertise and your Boston knowledge with other business people
PARTICIPATE
- Join whichever Action Team most reflects your interests
- Participate and contribute in that team and in broader BWP activities as your schedule allows
Moreover, be yourself. BWP Connectors are natural connectors. We believe what they contribute is an extension of their personality and strengths.
Q: What’s the benefit of being a Connector?
1) Access to a highly active and impressive network of movers and shakers of Boston. Connectors will get connected to each other and high performing Connectors will also have opportunities to interface with our Board.
2) Information about Boston’s offerings. BWP is amassing rich business, cultural, and social resources of Boston. Connectors have priority access to BWP resources.
3) Visibility to the world as representatives of Boston’s human capital. Every Connector has a profile on the BWP site and is available as insiders to Boston’s economy.
4) Opportunity to express your Boston pride and help strengthen your city.
Q: What is the time commitment?
BWP Connectors lead busy schedules, and we respect your time. The level of time commitment is determined by a few factors. First, the Connectors are expected to attend monthly Connectors-only event. Second, they’ll spend time, but at any hour, to share content generated from BWP network. And finally, time commitment to your Action Team will be decided by your team.
Q: What are the qualifications of becoming a Connector?
First and foremost, BWP’s model marries civic interest with self interest. Our network is something that people must invest in if they are going to draw from it. It means, simply, that members must demonstrate a spirit of mutual helpfulness. As with any network, trust is the foundation for everything we aspire to achieve. Thus, integrity and transparency are deeply important to this venture.
If you are interested in promoting Boston of its great assets and opportunities locally and abroad, want to proactively and creatively work on projects that has short or long term yield, and are willing to partner with us by contributing your talent, contacts, and resources, you’ll make a great fit.
Q: How do I apply?
